Health and wellness tips for ages 10 and under.

At this age, kids are growing quickly and learning healthy habits that can last a lifetime. It’s important to stay active by playing outside, running, jumping, or riding a bike for at least one hour every day. Moving around helps build strong muscles and bones and keeps the heart healthy. Eating a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is just as important because these foods give the body the vitamins and minerals it needs to grow big and strong. Try to choose whole grains like brown rice or whole wheat bread instead of white bread, and avoid too many sugary snacks or drinks, which can cause energy crashes and affect teeth-very crucial.

Getting plenty of sleep is another key to feeling good and staying healthy. Kids between 6 and 10 years old need about 9 to 12 hours of sleep every night. A regular bedtime routine, like reading a book or taking a warm bath, can help make going to bed easier and more relaxing.

Washing hands regularly, especially before eating and after playing outside, helps keep germs away and prevents illness. Brushing teeth twice a day keeps smiles bright and prevents cavities. It’s a good idea to limit screen time, whether it’s TV, tablets, or phones to about one or two hours a day. Too much screen time can make it harder to sleep well and can reduce time spent being active or playing with friends.

Its more healthy to play communicative and interactive games like board games instead of video games. Always remember, it’s time to hit the playground before your muscles turn into potatoes!
